Safety Tips
Last Updated: January 18, 2026
Your safety, both online and offline, is important to us. Meeting new people can be exciting, but it also requires awareness and personal responsibility. While Romanta Dating and Matching works to provide a secure platform and moderation tools, you are ultimately your own best advocate. These Safety Tips are designed to help you make informed decisions and reduce risk while using our Services.
1. ONLINE SAFETY AND DIGITAL AWARENESS
Never Send Money or Share Financial Information
Romanta strictly prohibits requests for money, donations, gifts, investments, or financial assistance between users. Never send money through wire transfer, cryptocurrency, banking services, gift cards, or mobile payment applications, even if someone claims to be facing an emergency or promises repayment.
Financial transactions of this nature are often irreversible and difficult to trace. Do not open accounts, invest funds, or engage with third-party services or websites recommended by another user. Never share information that could be used to access your financial accounts.
If another user asks you for money or financial assistance, stop communicating and report the account immediately.
Protect Your Personal Information
Do not share sensitive personal details with people you do not know, including but not limited to:
- Social Security numbers or government identification
- Home or work addresses
- Daily routines or locations you frequently visit
- Financial, banking, or employment details
If you are a parent or guardian, avoid sharing information about your children, including their names, images, ages, schools, or schedules. Romanta prohibits profiles containing images of minors.
Stay on the Romanta Platform
For your protection, we strongly encourage keeping conversations within the Romanta app while getting to know someone. Interactions on the platform are subject to Romanta’s Trust & Safety systems and moderation tools.
Users with malicious intent often attempt to move conversations quickly to external messaging apps, email, or phone calls to avoid detection. Proceed with caution if someone pressures you to leave the platform prematurely.
Be Cautious with Long-Distance or Overseas Connections
Exercise extra care when interacting with users who claim to be located far away or temporarily stranded abroad, especially if financial assistance is requested. Be wary of individuals who refuse to meet, avoid video or voice calls, or rush emotional intimacy without building trust.
If a user avoids reasonable questions, pushes for rapid commitment, or attempts to involve you in financial or investment activities, these may be warning signs of fraudulent behaviour.
Report Suspicious or Inappropriate Conduct
If someone crosses your boundaries or violates Romanta’s Terms or Community Guidelines, we want to know. You can block and report users directly from their profile or chat. Examples of reportable conduct include:
- Requests for money or donations
- Underage users
- Harassment, threats, or abusive language
- Fraudulent or misleading profiles
- Spam, solicitation, or commercial promotion
- Inappropriate or harmful behaviour during or after in-person meetings
Reports are reviewed confidentially and help protect the community.
2. MEETING IN PERSON SAFELY
Take Your Time
Do not feel pressured to meet quickly. Take time to communicate, ask questions, and identify any red flags. Using in-app voice or video calls can help verify identity before meeting in person.
Meet in Public and Stay in Public
For initial meetings, always choose a busy, public location such as a café, restaurant, or park. Never meet at a private residence, hotel room, or secluded location. If your date pressures you to move to a private place, end the meeting.
Tell Someone You Trust
Inform a friend or family member of your plans, including where you’re going, who you’re meeting, and when you expect to return. Keep your phone charged and consider sharing your live location with someone you trust.
Control Your Transportation
Arrange your own transportation so you can leave whenever you choose. Driving yourself or using a ride-share service ensures you are not dependent on your date and helps protect your privacy.
Know Your Limits
Alcohol or drugs can impair judgment and awareness. Be mindful of your limits and never feel obligated to drink or use substances. If your date pressures you to do so, leave immediately.
Protect Your Drinks and Personal Items
Only accept drinks served directly by staff. Never leave drinks unattended. Keep personal belongings such as your phone, wallet, and purse with you always.
Trust Your Instincts
If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe at any point, it is okay, and encouraged, to leave. You do not owe anyone your time. If needed, seek help from venue staff or local authorities.
3. THIRD-PARTY EVENTS LISTED ON ROMANTA
Romanta may display events hosted by independent third-party organizers or community members. Romanta does not organize, host, endorse, or verify these events and is not responsible for their safety, changes, cancellations, or disputes.
Before attending:
- Research the organizer independently
- Verify event details through official channels
- Meet matches in public areas
- Have an exit and transportation plan
Attendance at third-party events is at your own risk.
4. SEXUAL HEALTH AND CONSENT
Protect Your Health
Using protection such as condoms can significantly reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV. Some STIs can be transmitted through skin-to-skin contact, and vaccination may reduce risk for certain infections.
Know Your Status
Not all STIs present symptoms. Regular testing helps protect both you and your partners. In some jurisdictions, knowingly transmitting an STI may carry legal consequences.
Communicate Openly
Before engaging in physical intimacy, discuss sexual health, boundaries, and testing openly. Honest communication promotes safety and mutual respect.
Consent Is Mandatory
All sexual activity must be consensual, voluntary, and mutual. Consent must be clear and ongoing and can be withdrawn at any time. Sexual activity must stop immediately if a partner appears uncomfortable, uncertain, or unable to consent due to alcohol or drugs. Sex is never owed to anyone.
5. SPECIAL NOTICE FOR MATCHING & CURATED SERVICES
If you are using a curated or interview-based matching feature on Romanta, please note that vetting is not a background check and does not guarantee personal character or intent. All safety precautions outlined above still apply.
6. EMERGENCIES
If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services right away (911 in the United States or the appropriate emergency number in your country).
FINAL NOTE
Romanta Dating and Matching is committed to providing a respectful and secure environment, but no platform can eliminate all risk. By following these Safety Tips, you take an active role in protecting yourself and contributing to a safer community.
Safe connections begin with informed choices.
